LASC 254: Capstone in the Liberal Arts & Social Sciences 

Hybrid-Asynchronous course: Spring 2023 

Assignment Description:   DESCRIPTION: Over the course of the semester, you are expected to engage in one nature-based learning experience here in NYC to extend your learning about Anthrozoology and human-animal relationships. The assignment is individual (however you can choose an activity in small groups) and consists of: 
  1. Attend/engage in one of the experiences listed in the provided list of New York City Department of Parks & Recreation activities. The list was curated with our coure in mind. 
  1. Complete a brief 2 paragraph reflection on your experience. Your reflection should include your thoughts on the following: 
  1. a brief description of what you did 
  1. what drew you to this particular experience and/or why did you choose this experience? 
  1. how has this experience impacted your understanding or thinking about Anthrozoology and/or any course-related topic(s) we discussed or learned about in our Capstone? 
  1. A short survey (click to complete the survey AFTER completing your nature-based learning experience)
